Position Overview
Rockwoods is seeking a skilled Data/Business Analyst to join our team in Tysons, VA. This hybrid role requires four days onsite per week and is ideal for a local candidate with a strong analytical mindset, experience in data analysis, and expertise in translating business requirements into actionable solutions. The successful candidate will bridge data engineering and business analysis to deliver impactful insights and drive business success.
Key Responsibilities
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders, translating them into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Analyze large datasets from various sources to extract meaningful insights and develop scalable analytic solutions aligned with client needs.
• Design and build compelling dashboards and visualizations using tools like Tableau or Power BI to communicate insights effectively.
• Identify data quality issues, recommend integrity checks, and ensure data reliability within aggregated datasets.
• Conduct feasibility studies, gap analysis, impact assessments, and risk analysis to support decision-making and optimize business processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, project managers, and developers, to ensure project deliverables meet business objectives.
• Facilitate workshops, meetings, and agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives) to drive stakeholder alignment and continuous improvement.
• Participate in ETL processes and leverage data warehousing concepts to support data-driven solutions.
Qualifications
• Proven experience in data analysis, data engineering, or business analysis roles.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL processes, and process modeling.
• Experience with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, hybrid environment.
• Local to Tysons, VA, or willing to relocate for hybrid onsite work.
• Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP) or agile methodologies (e.g., Certified Scrum Master) is a plus.
